Melvec / 2019&#38;nbsp;From One Hit Wonder


Without a clear goal in front of his eyes, but with the certainty of having to set off now, he started. His determination was breathtaking and everyone who met him knew there was no stopping this man. Equipped only with his instruments and the most necessary things, he set off on a journey to meet those he had no idea of. This new chapter in his life made him enlighten.

The song is about the first Meeting of people from diffe-rent worlds. The music connects them and no language is necessary. As soon as the music sounds, the curious and nervous behaviour becomes a harmonious dance. They seem to forget the whole outside world and merge into one.

J. / 2019
From One Hit Wonder
	J. is a German “singrapper”/rapper and songwriter. Born as Mario Pimentel Junior on February
10th, 1995 in the suburbs of Cologne Germany.
J.’s venture into music began at a young age when he was only 6 years old. He found his passion
in singing inspired by his father who was a Gospel singer. Later on his older brother showed him
Rap, R&#38;amp;B and soul music. So he took up rapping and has ever since solidified his spot as a
natural musician.

						Kicked out for certain reasons as a family troublemaker at the age of 16, he had to face the hard
reality of growing up. Partly raised by the streets of cologne he endured a lot of violence and
criminal activity.
Unlike other rappers, J.’s style is a beautifully clear and authentic voice meeting a crisp and
contemporary production. His style of rapping and singing do not seem forced just like the fact
that he is trying to make a name for himself in a cypher by stuffing inordinate amount of syllables
into a bar.

Resonance / 2019
From One Hit Wonder


Our name is Resonance, a new digital based music band
from Cologne. With our music we try to let the listeners escape from their everyday life and create
daydreams. That’s why we Produce a light and easy listening summer-vibe genre.


Who doesn’t like summer? 


Our current song is called “Sun in the Sky”, that goes
in the direction of tropical house music. 


Try to imagine you’re at work, the radio is on and
it’s starting to play our song. You’re slowly feeling the warm evening sun
shining on your skin, a shallow sea rush lies in your ears. Or you’re out in
town on a hot summer evening drinking a cocktail. That’s what we want to convey
to the listener with our music. 


Performers like Kygo and Robin Schulz are a good
example of how successful this kind of music can be.


Full of anticipation an amazing feeling comes up when
we think of warm summer days, free minds and summery lightness. Through our
music this anticipation finds a way in our heads and the darkest winter will
feel a little bit warmer and brighter. 


Enjoy our song “Sun in the Sky” anytime and anywhere.

Virtual Vitality / 2019

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; We’ve entered the flattened out temporality…the Nineties ought to be as distant as the Sixties felt in 1980, but now the Sixties, the Eighties and the Nineties belong to a kind of postmodern curatorial simultaneity.” – Mark Fisher

The promise of another, radical future has been replaced by the banality of three decades of “No Alternative” neoliberal capitalism, a day to day banal drudgery punctuated by equally banal escapism on the weekends, a fading xeroxed version of 90s rave hedonism (itself a false dawn). The essence of a vivid, dynamic existence having been drained, slowly but steadily and systematically, from us in Real Life, in Meatspace…we flee to the virtual, to cyberspace seeking an escape. A synthetic simulacra of what is gone and what was promised and what we yearn for. Virtual life, virtual vitality.
Rupture with the present state of things seems to be all but impossible, so what is to be done? Take existing phenomena of our late/high-capitalist, fragmented society – or their reflections in culture, and twist/modify/accentuate them; parody of pastiche and pastiche of parody, intensification and sending up of cultural logics. A dissociated alienated voice, engulfed in subjective, affective flux. Distant melodies mimicking both a sense of emotional detachment and an echo of the past reaching through to our truncated present…“the imitation of dead styles, speech through all the masks and voices stored up in the imaginary museum of a now global culture“. Radiant bursts of colour momentarily disturb the march of machine rhythm only to be subsumed under its canopy again. Virtual Vitality is a barometer and a mirror of a certain contemporary existence…Within 12 weeks we tried to create a so called "One Hit Wonder". Due to the fact we had to define the band, look and sound on the aspects "dark and grimy" we translated 80‘s wave sound to the 2020‘s.
I basically worked out the audiovisual concept by crossing animation with black and white video, creating a walk-through-nightmare, adding different glitch methods to give it an inbetween virtuality and reality look.
Using brutalist architecture in the filmed footage was the best way to create an 80‘s based futuristic and dark look sending the observer through a suprematistic depressing dream.

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Yet one standard product of the scientific enterprise is missing. Normal science does not aim at novelties of fact or theory and, when successful, finds none. New and unsuspected phenomena are, however, repeatedly uncovered by scientific research, and radical new theories have again and again been invented by scientists. 

&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; The practice of normal science depends on the ability, acquired from exemplars, to group objects and situations into similarity sets which are primitive in the sense that the grouping is done without an answer to the question, “Similar with respect to what?” One central aspect of any revolution is, then, that some of the similarity relations change. Objects that were grouped in the same set before are grouped in different ones afterward and vice versa. Think of the sun, moon, Mars, and earth before and after Copernicus; of free fall, pendular, and planetary motion before and after Galileo; or of salts, alloys, and a sulpuhur-iron filing mix before and after Dalton.

J. is a German “singrapper”/rapper and songwriter. Born as Mario Pimentel Junior on February
10th, 1995 in the suburbs of Cologne Germany.J.’s venture into music began at a young age when he was only 6 years old. He found his passion
in singing inspired by his father who was a Gospel singer. Later on his older brother showed him rap, R&#38;amp;B and soul music. So he took up rapping and has ever since solidified his spot as a
natural musician.

						
Kicked out for certain reasons as a family troublemaker at the age of 16, he had to face the hard
reality of growing up. Partly raised by the streets of Cologne he endured a lot of violence and
criminal activity.
Unlike other rappers, J.’s style is a beautifully clear and authentic voice meeting a crisp and
contemporary production. His style of rapping and singing do not seem forced just like the fact
that he is trying to make a name for himself in a cypher by stuffing inordinate amount of syllables
into a bar.
